First, apply a moisturizer (for oily skin, use an oil free moisturizer)and let it absorb before makeup application. The sifters in the containers help you shake or tap the desired amount onto the lid and keep too much from falling out.
Foundation Application-Tap a small amount of powder into the top and swirl your Kabuki brush into it. Tap the bottom of the handle with the brush head facing upwards on a hard surface. This settles the powder into the brush head. Firmly spread the foundation on clean, dry skin to evenly blend pigments. Use a buff on in a circular motion. Some may just swirl the brush in a small of minerals till it disapears into the brush, this technique works as well.
Use the "Concealer Brush" to apply some foundation to eyelids, dark circles, blemishes and those areas on the side of you nose.
For Custom Colors: If your shade appears too yellow or too pink, blend with a little of the opposite based shade Example: beige too yellow - add a "COOL" pink undertone shade.
This is best accomplished on a tissue or in a separate container with a lid. Begin with two parts of your base shade to one part of the opposite colored base. Experiment with the ratios. Once you have created your custom shade, pre-mix in quantity. To slightly lighten, blend in a lighter shade. (don't forget to lighten in winter and darken in summer)
Need an instant tan? Use some foundation a couple shades deeper than your own and apply where the sun touches the skin the most-forehead, nose, cheeks and chin(even the chest area) You can even add foundation to your favorite face or body lotion!
Streaked, Blotchy, or Uneven Appearance? It could be over application, moisturizer is too greasy, moisturizer may contain alpha hydroxy acids (mineral will drag on the skin) or the moisturizer is not completely penetrated before mineral powder is applied. Minimize the amount of foundation used, blend with the Mineral Finishing Veil, or experiment with different moisturizers, and if the powder is mixed in your moisturizer make sure that the beads of mineral powder are completely mixed in.
Mineral Finishing Veil Application-
To apply the mineral veil, use the method descriped with foundations, but this time apply over the layer of foundation. If you have oily skin, apply the veil first under the foundation to act as a primer and then apply the foundation over the veil. If you choose to, you may want to apply a light mineral veil layer also over the foundation
Eye Shadow application-
Using your eye color brush, dip just the tip of the brush into your powder, then tap the brush on the side of your container, so excess powders fall back into it. This ensures that you do not use too much. Brush the color gently on your eyelids, crease, or under the brow making sure to blend until the color achieves the look you desire.
Remember, a little color can go a long way! A DEEPER SHADE normally goes in the "crease", below the brow bone. A LIGHT PEARL goes right under the eyebrow across the brow bone area and then you may blend across the deeper shade for a softer look.
Finishing the look with Eyeliner-
Most women choose a darker shade of color for lining the eye. You can achieve a smokey eye by using the powder dry, try it with the eyeliner brush as near to the upper and the lower lashes as you can and smudging or blending a little to create the desired effect. Some may prefer to just do the top lid, especially if you have excesive undereye bags or premature wrinkles as dark eyeliners can draw more attention to these areas.
Feel free to blend different colors to make a custome shade.
*For a cleaner line, create a liquid* by tapping some powder into the container lid and wetting the eyeliner brush. Dip the dampened brush into the powder making sure to avoid any clumping of the product. Then, line the eye as closely as possible to the lashes. Wipe any excess liquid from the lid before closing. Some women like to make a tail or wing effect on the outer edges, you may want to practice that dry first
If you make a mistake, use a cotton swab, dampen it if needed. You may also try a little foundation on the cotton swab.
If you feel that you applied too much eye makeup, try using your foundation or kabuki brush and brush lightly over both lids, sweep over one eye at a time untill satisfied with the look. You may need to add a touch more foundation to the brush if you don't see any difference.

Bronzer- Apply a deeper shade or deeper foundation below the blush for definition, or you may use as a blush. Apply light to medium shades on top of blush, sweep softly acoss front of cheeks, nose for head or chin-anywhere the sun usually touches your face. You may also sweep across lids for a quick dab of color if in too much of a hurry for eye shadow.
